Greetings from Director of the Library
It is my pleasure to welcome you to al-Hussein Bin Talal Library at Yarmouk University which obtains a wealth of resources, staff expertise, information services, and learning spaces.
The library was founded in 1976 and worked to be a pioneer in building up its collections to serve the educational and academic process in Yarmouk University. We paid much attention on the needs of researchers and academic staff, through the provision of providing resources of various kinds. We, also, have cooperation with university libraries and educational institutions at local, regional, and international levels for the aim of developing library standards and to raise the level of research and support the teaching process.
In 2002, a new library building, covering an area of over 18,000 square meters, was inaugurated. The University Library was given a name “Al Hussein Bin Talal Library” to commemorate His Late Majesty King Hussein Bin Talal king of Jordan 1952-1999.
The library provides convenient access to print materials, multi-platform access to thousands of electronic journals, e-books, dissertations, databases, and inter-library loan service to support teaching, research, and learning.
Al Hussein Bin Talal Library is hosting Center of Excellence for Jordanian Public University Library Services which in turn coordinates between member libraries their own affairs. The Association of Arab Universities has selected Al-Hussein Bin Talal Library as deposit center for the of Arab periodicals issued by Arab member universities.
Please take the opportunity to visit our library and discover for yourself why we think our library is the heart of this great university. We hope you find what you are looking for.
